A native of Chicago, Dr. Colle Hunt graduated from Harper College in Palatine, Ill. with an associate degree.  He began attending Palmer College of Chiropractic, West Campus in San Jose, Calif. in 2000 and graduated in December 2003. Established over 100 years ago, Palmer College is the first chiropractic college and is considered the world leader in chiropractic education.

“I wanted to become a chiropractor because I like helping people feel better and function better so they can lead their most active lives,” says Dr. Hunt. “I was helped by a chiropractor after I had a car accident in my early 20s. I was T-boned by a pickup truck. My neck hurt, I had lower back pain and any time I would try to run and my back would stiffen up. He showed me how effective a natural approach could be.”

Dr. Hunt established his Active Spine & Sports practice in Silicon Valley in 2004, concentrating on treating patients with neuropathy, neck and back pain, as well as professional athletes. Since that time, he’s traveled across the country to attend more than 30 post-graduate courses at research facilities such as the prestigious Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. It’s important to keep up with the latest research and advances in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain so he can better serve his patients. dr colle family good pic

“It bothered me that so many people think that chiropractic care is limited to back adjustments and cracking necks,” says Dr. Hunt. “For me, modern chiropractic care is about combining my knowledge of how the body works with the newest pain-relief techniques and then finding the best way to treat each individual patient.”

Dr. Hunt believes in teaching his patients about how their bodies work and shares exercises they can do at home so patients can be proactive in preventing future neck and back injuries.

One of the most exciting treatments he offers is laser light therapy. The warmth of a high-power laser helps stimulate blood flow, which can speed healing for patients with a range of conditions from back pain to neuropathy to sports injuries.

When he isn’t working, Dr. Hunt enjoys playing basketball, date nights with his wife and trying to keep up with their two very active young daughters.
